Global Awareness

Purpose:
Global Awareness(GA) is based on working within the five cross-cultural dimensions — Task & Relationships, Power Distance, Uncertainty Avoidance, Individualism/Collectivism and Context Communication. This program will teach participants about typical behaviors from certain cultures and how to prepare one’s self for business interactions. As participants begin to understand each of the five dimensions, common stereotypes will also be revealed. Through that understanding, participants will be able to make business interaction run smoothly.

Process:
At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize how culture impacts interpersonal interactions, and how one’s own behavior impacts their personal and professional effectiveness
  2. Recognize stereotypes and improve multicultural interactions by reducing confusion
  3. Be able to develop more effective and productive work relationships
  4. Use knowledge to prepare for cross-cultural business interactions
  5. Reduce surprises that could cause a business deal to dissolve

  7. Identify critical global communications barriers and devise efficient ways to handle them
  8. Deal with culture shock to successfully engage in business relationships across cultures
